Get to Know Me

My name is Dr. Emily Pavlisin and I am a Bay Area based licensed clinical psychologist. I am currently serving adult clients throughout the state of California via telehealth.

I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, life transitions, relational problems, and perinatal mood concerns. I am passionate about supporting folks navigating the adjustment to parenthood, and I have specialized training in perinatal mental health.

I have a strong background in child development, which informs my passion for empowering parents, as well as my understanding of trauma, resilience, and human development. I utilize a combination of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and relational approaches that are attuned to each client's unique individual and cultural needs.

I have experience treating individuals across the lifespan in a range of outpatient settings. Prior to private practice, I worked in the Department of Adult Psychiatry at Kaiser Permanente in South San Francisco. In this role, I provided individual and group therapy to adults, worked as part of the triage team to coordinate care, periodically completed crisis evaluations in the emergency department, and provided clinical supervision in the doctoral training program. I completed my postdoctoral residency at Kaiser Permanente in Santa Rosa as part of the Adult Behavioral Medicine and Child and Family teams. I completed my doctoral internship at California Pacific Medical Center, where I provided therapy and assessment to children, families, and adults. I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University, with an emphasis in Family Psychology. Throughout my graduate training, I pursued specialized training in child and adolescent development through externships in a pediatric neuropsychological assessment practice, a community mental health center, a middle school, and a college counseling center.
