Frequently Asked Questions

I have never been to therapy before. What can I expect?

Going to therapy for the first time can feel ambiguous and anxiety provoking for many people. What happens in therapy anyway? Basically, the therapy hour will be set aside for you each week as a safe and nonjudgmental space for you to process stressors, develop coping skills, or learn more about yourself or your relationships. My role is to guide you with questions to facilitate insight, share my observations, teach you skills, and help you arrive at solutions.

How many sessions do I need?

Each individual has unique treatment needs, so this is also true for length of treatment. Oftentimes, clients start noting improvements after just a few of sessions. Others benefit from meeting on a longer term basis. My goal is to work together to get you to the point where you feel connected with your support system and empowered to navigate life's challenges on your own. I encourage a continuous and open dialogue about when this time may be.

3

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance at this time. However, I am happy to provide you with an invoice to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement in the event that your insurance company allows you to seek treatment from an out of network provider.

4

How much does it cost?

I offer a free 15 minute consultation to discuss your treatment needs, during which we will also review my fees. Please see my Services and Fees page for more information. My fees are within the customary range for mental health services in the Bay Area.

5

Are you seeing clients in person?

I am only accepting virtual clients at this time.
